What is a temperament test? Is it required for my dog to board or be in day care?

A temperament test is a test we give pets to test how they respond in certain situations. We test them on their leash behavior, kennel behavior, human-contact behavior, one-on-one dog behavior and group setting behavior. This is to make sure your dog and other dogs are always safe and comfortable when staying with us. We offer test Mon.-Fri., at which time you will drop off between 9:00 am and 11:30 pm. The test can last up to 4 hours depending how many test we are preforming that day. You are welcome to walk in but it is always best to call ahead to schedule this test so we can make sure your pet has everything they need for the test and our temperament test spots book up quickly. Temperament Tests are $15.00 per test.

We require a temperament test to participate in day care but it is not required for boarding. Not all dogs are comfortable in a large group setting and that is okay! We have other options if your dog doesn't prefer day care

What time can I pick up and drop off my dog for boarding?

If you are dropping off your pet to stay overnight, he or she can be brought in anytime during operating hours.  Pick up time is anytime from open until noon, if you are unable to pick up before noon you will be charged for the full day unless your pet is getting groomed before leaving. We recommend that dogs in daycare be picked up at least 15 minuets prior to closing.

What do the dogs do all day in day care?

Dog daycare is a great way to socialize your pup as well as help them get some of that energy out! Dogs will be placed in groups according to size and temperament. While they are in group day care, they will do anything from running around with their friends to getting belly rubs. If your pup needs to take a break they can snuggle up  on one of our elevated cots before going back for more.

My pet requires special medical care while boarding?

We understand leaving your pet can be stressful, especially when they need special care. In an effort to take away some of that stress, we offer medical boarding on site at our vet clinic with trained technicians and vets available if needed during their stay. Please contact us or our vet office for more information.

From comfy cots to fuzzy blankets, your pet will feel right at home when staying with us. We ask that you do not bring additional bedding for your pet, however if there is anything that may make your pet feel more at home, we are happy to accommodate. Do dogs ever get hurt?

Here at Miller Vet Play and Stay, the  safety of your pet is highly important to us and while the animals are supervised at all times to ensure a safe environment the occasional scratch, cut or sprained joint can still occur. While infrequent, dogs can also get into a small scuffle, even under close supervision. All dogs are screened for aggression prior to being allowed into the daycare setting however, even the friendliest of dogs can get into scuffles with little to no warning. If such an event were to occur our staff is trained to handle it safely and quickly.
